How to budget for an Indian trip without guessing
Most people either wildly underestimate a trip's cost (and run out of cash on day 3) or overpack their wallet and skip experiences they could have afforded. The fix isn't a spreadsheet — it's breaking the trip into the four categories that actually matter: stay, food, transport and activities, each estimated per person per day. Multiply that out by your trip length and traveller count, add a buffer for the inevitable extra chai, cab, or souvenir, and you get a number you can actually trust.
The three presets (Backpacker, Comfortable, Luxury) are starting points based on typical Indian trip spending, not fixed rules — a hostel-and-street-food Goa trip looks very different from a resort-and-fine-dining one, even though both are "Goa trips". Adjust each field once you know your actual hotel and food style.
